PixelCare Break: Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 26, 2026 ยท Applies to the PixelCare Break extension for Google Chrome, version 1.0.0 and later.
Short version: PixelCare Break collects nothing. There's no tracking, no analytics, no ads, no accounts and no sign-in. Your settings and timer are saved only in your own browser. We never receive them.
What the extension stores, and where
PixelCare Break saves a few things with Chrome's built-in
chrome.storage.local. That storage stays on your computer,
inside your Chrome profile:
| Item | Why |
|---|---|
| Your settings: work length, break length, auto-start choice, default game, Beat the Bot level | So the extension remembers your choices |
| Timer state: work or break, running or paused, time left, number of breaks taken | So the timer keeps going when the popup is closed |
None of this is sent anywhere. It doesn't sync to other devices. We (PixelCare) can't see it.
What we do not collect
We don't collect, transmit, sell or share any personal or sensitive information. That includes your name, email, location, browsing history, the websites you visit, page contents, keystrokes, health information, financial information and authentication details. The extension has no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or third-party code. It doesn't load remote code.
Permissions and why they are needed
| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
storage |
Saving your settings and timer state on your device (see above). |
alarms |
Waking the extension when a work or break period ends, so the timer works with the popup closed. |
notifications |
Showing the "Break time!" and "Break over" alerts on your computer. |
The extension asks for no host permissions. It can't read or change any web page, and it has no content scripts.
Opening a game
PixelCare Break opens a game in a new tab only when you click "Play a
game" or the break notification. The game is on
pixelcare.app. Your browser then
visits that website like any other site, and the pixelcare.app website's
own privacy policy applies to that visit. The extension doesn't pass any
data to the website: it opens a plain link such as
https://pixelcare.app/games/snake.
The Beat the Bot score targets ship inside the extension. Nothing is downloaded to show them, and your game scores are never sent back to the extension.
Removing your data
To delete everything the extension has stored, remove it from Chrome:
open chrome://extensions, find PixelCare Break and click
Remove. Chrome deletes the extension's local storage along with
it. To go back to the default 25/5 timer, use "Restore 25 / 5" on the
extension's Settings page.
Children
The extension doesn't collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If a future version of the extension needs to collect any data, it will ask for your permission first, and this page will be updated before that version is released.
